From September 23 to 25, 2026, Professor Mawatari Kazuma, Principal Investigator (PI) from Waseda University, and Associate Professor Ieiri Yuya visited Hanoi to review and discuss the progress of research activities under Output 1 and Output 5.
Under Output 5, the project team is preparing to deploy over 20 low-cost sensors across Hanoi to monitor air quality data, which will be integrated with satellite imagery analysis. Field installations are scheduled to launch in October 2026. The team visited some existing air quality monitoring station of Hanoi city, in order to understand the current situation.
On September 25, the SATREPS Project Management Unit (PMU) held a meeting attended by Prof. Le Thanh Son, Rector of VNU University of Science (HUS), Assoc. Prof. Tran Dinh Trinh, newly appointed Project Manager, and key project members. The session provided a valuable opportunity to review progress across all outputs, address outstanding challenges to accelerate implementation, and welcome new HUS members to the SATREPS team.
